What inspires us
From gemstone to jewellery, a shared vision
A gemstone can mark the beginning of a collection, become the centrepiece of a design or hold the memory of a meeting. CKYSTONES grew from a gemmological sensibility: observing the material, understanding its characteristics and finding its rightful place.
We aim to bring technical rigour together with the pleasure of choosing. Colour, dimensions, cut, known treatments and available documents inform your decision without taking away what moves you about a gemstone.
With our designers, your selection can become a personal piece of jewellery. Whether creating a new piece or transforming an old one, the project takes shape around your wishes, how you will wear it and your budget.

Our sourcing approach is shaped by relationships with the people who work with gemstones. In Madagascar, particularly in Ilakaka, conversations with local people, miners and lapidaries are part of that story.
We aim to build lasting collaborations, share knowledge and better understand each gemstone's journey. These human connections support our selection and examination work.
Provenance information and supporting documents may vary from one stone to another. We examine them for each gemstone, distinguishing supplier information from conclusions established through analysis.

A commercial source, a declared country of origin and a geographical origin determined by a laboratory are different types of information.
Treatments
A natural gemstone may have been treated. Known treatments and the findings of any available report are detailed on each gemstone's product page.
Documentation
Identification, laboratory reports and valuations answer different questions. We help you understand the document accompanying your gemstone.
